Daily Assignments
Scores: 88/90; 92/100; 90/95
- Divide points earned by points possible:
88/90 = .98; 92/100 = .92; 90/95 = .95
- Multiply by 100 to get a percentage: (You can omit this step if you prefer to work with decimals.)
.98 x 100 = 98% .92 x 100 = 92% .95 x 100 = 95%
- Calculate the average for the Daily Assignments by adding the percentages (or decimals) and then dividing by the number of assignments:
98% + 92% + 95% = 285% 285% / 3 = 95%
Test scores
Scores: 89/100; 90/95; 87/90
- Divide points earned by points possible:
89/100 = .89 90/95 = .95 87/90 = .97
- Multiply by 100 to get a percentage: (You can omit this step if you prefer to work with decimals.)
.89 x 100 = 89% .95 x 100 = 95% .97 x 100 = 97%
- Calculate the average for the Tests by adding the percentages (or decimals) and then dividing by the number of tests.
89% + 95% +97% = 281 281 / 3 = 94%
Weight the Daily Assignments and Tests
- Multiply the average of the daily assignment scores and the test scores by the weights given: Daily assignments: 95% x 20% = 19% Tests: 94% x 80% = 75%
- Add the weighted scores: 19% + 75% = 94%
