UPDATE SR 74 and SCR 88

Several weeks ago, CHOH alerted you to two resolutions that were filed in the State Senate, S.R. 74 and S.C.R. 88. Both requested the Department of Education to conduct a “wellness visit” for “any child who has been removed from a Department of Education school to be homeschooled.” (To read these resolutions, click the links above.)
CHOH was informed by the legislative aide to Representative Diamond Garcia that both resolutions were not scheduled for hearing and have therefore died in committee.
A big mahalo for your prayers and to all those who contacted their legislators to oppose the resolutions. We praise the Lord for His great mercy.
Resolutions do not carry over to the next year. Nevertheless, we must be vigilant as the intent of the resolution could be introduced as a bill in the 2025 legislative session.
Remain vigilant, the intent of the resolutions could be re-submitted as a bill in the next legislative session.
